Full-time exhibitor personnel can independently install and dismantle exhibit properties without assistance from IATSE Local #99 stagehands. If additional labor is needed, it must be sourced through Local #99. Exhibitors can hire labor either via an Exhibitor Appointed Contractor, such as Absolute I&D, or through the general contractor.
Exhibitors have the option to bring their own materials into the facility by hand, but the use of dollies, flat trucks, or mechanical equipment is not allowed. Loading dock access is controlled by the general contractor.
Straight-time labor rates apply from Monday to Friday (8:00 am to 4:30 pm). Overtime rates apply outside these hours, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The lunch break is daily from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
Utah enforces a 6.6% sales tax on installation and dismantling services, as well as on consumable items.
Exhibitors are encouraged to plan labor and material handling needs accordingly. This brings compliance and avoids additional costs.
