Duties and Responsibilities:
Be a leader

Manage a team of 3-7 account managers, coordinators, receptionist i.e., hire/fire, schedule, workflow, install process, office conduct, discipline, and project supervision.
Hire talent, understand how to find it and create an interview process for your department.
Work with and on the same level as our other 4 directors/ dept heads. This conduciveness is important.
Ensure our procedures are ones in which set up our employees to succeed and company to be efficient.
Empower your employees to be better, teach when needed and help them grow.
Find and manage relationships with vendors we use for production and services.
Oversee quality control with account management staff of exhibits going out the door.
Work well and communicate well with all departments through the production process.
Prepare proposals when needed.
When a job is sold, communicate with the salesperson to gather all pertinent details and prepare to distribute to an account manager.
Schedule “put to work” meeting with detailer, salesperson and production manager to review and prepare scheduling for the job.
Communicate updates to the salesperson.
Be on call during client’s shows to assist with issues.
Handle current client orders that don’t require a salesperson i.e., re-rentals, graphic order, services, logistics.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Establish fabrication and production techniques based on design objectives and budgetary constraint.
Work with fabrication department foreman and account manager to identify critical path for the successful fabrication of all custom scenic elements. Establish, publish and manage a realistic timetable that reflects the critical path.
Work with the CAD engineering department and fabrication foreman to ensure all necessary CAD drawings are correct and complete.
Produce all orders relating to the fabrication of custom scenic elements and distribute with approved drawings to appropriate departments.
Facilitate solutions to production issues with the production staff that could lead to cost overruns.
Support the account manager in facilitating the continuity of information flow between departments throughout the production process.
Schedule and manage warehouse crew.
Schedule and manage woodshop crew.
Oversee all quality control.
Help sales team with custom estimating on large detailed projects.
Attend all job specific meetings and conduct any meetings necessary outside the defined workflow to facilitate the production process.
Work with warehouse supervisor ensuring our warehouse is running efficiently, minimizing mistakes and maximizing use of labor.
Set and maintain pre-build schedule as well as woodshop schedule based in information at “Put To Work” meeting for each job.
Work with fabrication during the production process and periodically review the status of work to maintain proposal, design and budgetary objectives.
Work with 3rd part labor companies to develop an efficient on-site logistics plan for installation of all fabricated items and trade show booth. Ensure plan meets the budget objectives as well as achieves the high quality standards established by the company.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in exhibits, special events or technical theater production or project management
Experience in fabrication of trade show exhibits, permanent display installations or theatrical scenery.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of current code, production procedures and materials, and installation methods unique to our business.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with personnel, venue staff and clients when needed.
Excellent working knowledge of windows based computer systems and software including Microsoft Office. Experience with estimating and project management software a plus.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS
Production Managers regularly internally interface with sales, design, CAD engineering, fabrication, operations and account management. Additionally, regular interface with outside vendors and clients is required.

Confers with exhibit planning and art personnel to discuss structural feasibility of plans and to suggest alternate methods of displaying objects in exhibit.
Cuts, assembles, and fastens parts to construct framework, panels, shelves, and other exhibit components of specified materials, using hand tools and power tools.
Sprays or brushes paint, enamel, varnish, or other finish on structures, or creates special effects by applying finish with cloth, sponge, or fingers to prepare structure for addition of fittings.
Mounts fittings and fixtures, such as shelves, panel boards, and shadowboxes to framework, using hand tools or adhesives.
Installs electrical wiring, fixtures, apparatus, audiovisual components, or control equipment in framework, according to design specifications.
Installs or affixes murals, photographs, mounted legend materials, and graphics in framework or on fixtures.
Assembles, installs, or arranges structures in exhibit halls working with maintenance and installation personnel.
Tests electrical, electronic, and mechanical components of exhibit structure to verify operation.
May maintain inventory of building materials, tools, and equipment, and order supplies as needed for construction of exhibit fixtures.
May assign duties to and supervise work of carpentry, electrical, and other craftworkers engaged in constructing and installing exhibit components.
May assist in placement of display accessories and collection objects or specimens.

JOB SUMMARY:
Support the fabrication, assembly and installation of new interactive exhibits, interpretive displays, themed environments and structures requiring cabinetmaking and fine carpentry skills of cutting, joining and preparing wood, plywood, andvarious plastic materials. Traveling supervisor to insure proper assembly and dismantling of exhibits nationwide.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:
Must possess a minimum of 5+ years of work experience and training in a cabinet shop or similar fabrication, construction, mechanical or industrial technology position.
Previous experience as an Exhibit Builder, Master or Journeyman Cabinet Maker, and/or Installer is highly desirable and preferred.
Must possess cabinet making and fine carpentry skills of cutting, joining and preparing wood, plywood, and various plastics.
Must be able to read and interpret engineering, production and shop drawings and define parts from those drawings to be able to machine the parts as required.
Must have a thorough knowledge and a high level of skill with hand tools,power tools, various saws, routers, and drills.
Experience with bending plywoods, laminates, veneers, solid plastics, adhesives, and many fasteners is required.
Must have the mechanical ability to integrate various electro mechanical devices and apparatus into exhibit casework. The ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical systems is a plus.
A good eye for detail and model building experience would be helpful.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work from lifts, ladders and high platforms.
Ability to work on many projects simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Inventive spirit, initiative to work alone without direct supervision, and be responsible for timely completion of assigned tasks.
Occasional travel is required, ranging from 1 to 4 weeks per year.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, but are not limited to:
Provide fabrication, assembly and finish carpentry support for exhibits, displays, scenic facades and graphic signs using both common and unusual materials as required to satisfy the demands of the project.
Operate standard shop tools such as table saw, router, chop saw, sanders, band saw and various hand power tools required in the fabrication and assembly of final products.
Install exhibit structures and devices into final exhibition spaces at both inside our shop and at client locations and exhibit halls as required.
Build scaled models of exhibit pieces and spaces for evaluation using wood, plastics, foam core or similar modeling products.
Follow all Safety Policies and maintains OSHA compliancy through work practice, maintaining records and writing reports as required.
Keep shop and personal workspace neat, clean, organized and well supplied.
Serve as an example to other team members in matters of appearance, attitude, and performance. Must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships and team environment with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, with a focus on quality service to internal staff and external clients, vendor and subcontractors.
Support operations through participation in meetings and team functions as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
